Cierra's School of Dance opened its doors to its first class on March 3, 2014 out of Cierra's basement. Throughout the years, CSOD has done countless events and performances, grown its classes, and has now expanded to a beautiful new facility in Romeoville to give our dance families even more opportunities! Our new facility is in an amazing, easily accessible location. CSOD boasts two dance studio rooms, a large lobby, and a fully stocked dancewear shop. With so many classes to offer, we have something for everyone, ages 18 months through adult, and all skill levels in between! We have our very own competitive team that attends competitions throughout the Midwest and does events and performances. Dancers involved with our competition team have opportunities to do solos and other special dances at competitions, events, and recital! We have won many awards and scholarships as well throughout our few years competing. The Galaxy Dance Company of Cierra's School of Dance will be hosting its 5th season's auditions late this summer! Be on the lookout for your dancer to join in on all the fun!
Meet Our Staff
Cierra Falbo is the owner and artistic director of CSOD. Miss Cierra's dance journey began at the age of 3. She has trained in all styles of dance. Cierra began student teaching at the age of 10. She grew to love sharing her passion with young dancers just as much as she loves dancing. She competed at many dance competitions, winning various awards and scholarships throughout her years dancing. She has also performed internationally, including various stages in Italy! She has done choreography for the Bolingbrook High School Poms dance team and has choreographed various dances for the Lewis University Flyerettes dance team, where she danced for 4 years throughout college, whilst earning her Bachelor's Degree. Now she is the proud owner of CSOD where she opened the doors in 2014. She is the teacher of many of the styles and classes. She is also the director of the Galaxy Dance Company, which is the competition team of Cierra's School of Dance. With GDC, she has won awards with her choreography, and her competitive students have done very well under her instruction. Miss Cierra hopes to inspire dancers of any age and ability, to never give up, to find confidence within themselves, and to express their passion freely here at Cierra's School of Dance.
Miss Nikki has been dancing for 20 years. She began her dance career at Stage Door Dance Academy and stayed with the studio for 5 years. Upon entering high school, she competed as an Oak Lawn Community High School Spartan for all 4 years. Senior year, Nikki was awarded MVD (most valuable dancer). She then attended Moraine Valley Community College where she began her studies of Criminal Justice and of course joined the 24 Karat dance team. Nikki spent 3 seasons with 24K, the last of which she was captain of the team. During her season as Captain, not only did the dance team compete at a collegiate level for the first time ever, they also made it to State! Nikki then moved on to Lewis University where she danced with the Lewis University Flyerettes for 2 seasons. She met Cierra during her time on the Flyerettes Dance Team, and the two of them choreographed multiple pieces for the team. She graduated with a B.A. in Criminal Justice in 2015. Ms. Nikki is thrilled to be a part of the CSOD team, having taught classes at CSOD since 2016. She loves watching the students grow in their art and being able to aid in that process.
Miss Ria is currently a student at Bolingbrook High School. She had very little experience prior to starting classes at Cierra’s School of Dance at age 12, and fell in love with the studio and people at CSOD. Soon after starting with CSOD, she instantly found her love for dance. After countless years of dancing with CSOD, Ria has not only joined more classes but improved in various styles of dance including ballet, hip hop, jazz, lyrical/contemporary, musical theater, tumbling, and pointe. She has been a competitive dancer on the Galaxy Dance Company of CSOD since the 2017-2018 season. Ria also spreads her joy for dance in the Orchesis dance team at Bolingbrook High school where she performs and has also choreographed dances for. She began assisting a few youth classes with Miss Cierra and Miss Nikki in a variety of styles at age 13. She has found a love of working with children, sharing her passion, and feels that she learns even more by being a dance teacher. She is now teaching a handful of classes at CSOD and loves watching her students learn and improve! She is still a student at CSOD striving to reach all her goals. She was even our 2019 Dancer of the Year award winner! With the support of her family and friends, her devotion for dance continues to thrive and she wants to continue to share her love through her classes by being a part in other dancers’ journey.
Miss Tina is the mom of Cierra. She has been an active dance mom for all these years, and is now an active dance grandma as well as the manager of CSOD. You will see her at all events, or behind the scenes helping Cierra put it all together. She will often be seen as our office manager, greeting you at our front lobby desk. She also enjoys taking some of the adult classes, and has found that its never to late to begin!
