Cierra's School of Dance opened its doors to its first class on March 3, 2014 out of Cierra's basement. Throughout the years, CSOD has done countless events and performances, grown its classes, and has now expanded to a beautiful new facility in Romeoville to give our dance families even more opportunities! Our new facility is in an amazing, easily accessible location. CSOD boasts two dance studio rooms, a large lobby, and a fully stocked dancewear shop. With so many classes to offer, we have something for everyone, ages 18 months through adult, and all skill levels in between! We have our very own competitive team that attends competitions throughout the Midwest and does events and performances. Dancers involved with our competition team have opportunities to do solos and other special dances at competitions, events, and recital! We have won many awards and scholarships as well throughout our few years competing. The Galaxy Dance Company of Cierra's School of Dance will be hosting its 6th season's auditions late this summer! Be on the lookout for your dancer to join in on all the fun!

Journie took her very first dance class when she was two and joined her first competitive company at the age of five. Working with amazing Chicagoland mentors such as Lizzie Mckenzie, Gil Mata and Ted Jackson, Journie was the recipient of many scholarships and winner of several regional and national solo titles. After switching to an all ballet focus during her teen years, Journie then spent 4 years as a member of Ballet Chicago’s studio company. During her time at Ballet Chicago she was lucky enough to perform Soloist and Principle roles in many of George Balanchine’s prestigious ballets. After her time at Ballet Chicago, Journie moved to Fort Wayne Indiana and spent the season as a trainee with The Fort Wayne Ballet. Recently, Journie has moved back to Chicago to continue her ballet training and teach throughout the area. She is super excited to share her passion, knowledge and help promote a healthy mindset within this young generation of dancers.
